Why subscribe?

Pinch of Dirt is a weekly newsletter about outdoor adventure and the environment.

Who writes Pinch of Dirt? I do! I am a journalist, an enthusiastic hiker and backpacker, and an urban gardener.

Why? I started this newsletter in 2017 to share the best nature, travel, and adventure writing I found on the internet, and to try my hand at crafting some of my own.

How often do you publish? Once a week, generally, with exceptions for holidays, travel, and other occasional interruptions.

What will I get? A special blend of essay, commentary, and link round-up.

Where did you get your cool logo? I snagged the image from the public domain. It originally appeared in a book titled “The Gardener’s Assistant: A Practical and Scientific Exposition of the Art of Gardening in all its Branches.”

How much does a subscription cost? Pinch of Dirt is currently free!

Then how can I show my support? Share with your friends and encourage them to subscribe! And if you tweet nice things to me I might feature them below.

What do readers say about it?

Reader Paul:

Your newsletter is fantastic; every time it hits my inbox I get giddy at the prospect of taking a ten minute break from work and reading my way through a mini-outdoor adventure. Keep up the good work!
