Yo honestly I can’t wait to swim in the Plus Pool! Love that dirty water 🎶

Pool+ is fine but I’m curious where the water comes from. Filtered from the East River? Hard pass. I agree, I’d much much rather have adult laps back. At the Red Hook pool (my favorite!), half of it remains closed for the last few years because there aren’t enough lifeguards

Came for the PFAS take, stayed for Shai-Hulud

In all seriousness PFAS is much more prevalent and complicated than that article portrays it to be. Unclear whether performance fabrics are the largest indirect PFAS polluter and despite the articles implications, their concern as direct polluters is even more dubious IM(educated)O, see firefighting foams. 3M exited PFAS business and took 10B write off despite PFAS criticality in batteries and fuel cell growth industries. Maybe PFAS based performance fabrics can be switched as easily as fluorinated ski waxes (replaced with hydrocarbon waxes *clutches pearls*), but consideration of lifetime impact of replacements needs to be considered before we all start oiling canvas again. Perhaps someone should write a more thorough and informative article ;).
